What a crazy first day with Addie. We flew from Beijing to Nanchang (good geography lesson) - 2 hour flight - on China Eastern airlines; they have good airplanes with plenty of legroom.
Our guide brought us to the hotel, where the girls were waiting (two other families). They brought each one to the parents - handed them over; no big ceremony or anything. Our guide, Mary, who works for our adoption agency said to meet in one hour to go sign papers.
So little Addie, a quiet little bug, held on to Anne tightly as we brought her to our hotel room. Within the hour, I got her to break a small smile. How difficult for the girls to be handed over to non-Chinese people who speak a different language.
The entire afternoon - sign papers at 3 different places.
We had dinner, but everyone tired/exhausted - even me (Bob).
Today, Tuesday, much better. More of a restful day - sleeping in, having a good breakfast, going for a walk with the girls, going to the grocery store for a few things, trying the pool (Addie didn't want to try - don't blame her).
Addie is starting to eat better - congi (soupy rice), bits of French toast, yogurt, small bites of chicken & pork.
She had fun tonight eating regular rice (and wearing a lot of it too).
She loves to take her shoes & socks off; she can stand, and take a few steps with help, but doesn't crawl - she will probably go right to walking. She can go to the bathroom on a kids toilet!!
